Upon arriving here at Syngenta we entered the Mary-Dell Chilton Center. The center is dedicated to Mary-Dell Chilton, Phd, who was the founding executive director in 1983.
Testing Mobile Broadband
I’m in the St. Louis airport on my way to Raleigh, NC and got to test my new Sprint Mobile Broadband card in my computer. According to the test I got 768K download speed and 100k upload speed. Not bad and much better than dialup!
Brew News Blogging
The Brew Blog is where you can find out news and information about the alcohol beverage industry. I think this is a fantastic idea. Listen up agrimarketers. Take a look at what Miller is doing here. They’ve hired or contracted with a reporter who is covering their industry. I know you purists out there will be shocked. How can this have any credibility you might ask? I say, look at what’s being posted by Jim Arndorfer. He’s certainly going to be an example I’ll be using in my workshop at the Ag Media Summit!
Farm Assist For Potato Growers
Syngenta is helping out potato growers in more ways than one this month. To start with they just received EPA approval for Quadris Ridomil Gold fungicide.

Denim Is Made Out of Cotton & Protects It
You’ve gotta love an insecticide for cotton called Denim. Syngenta received registration for use of the product on cotton in California today. I like my blue jeans and I don’t need any pesky critters chewing them up, or the cotton plants they get made out of.
Some Sweet Varieties of Corn
This announcement made me think of Florida sweet corn boils and especially the Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival. It’s nice to know that new varieties are still coming out.
