The big news out of Washington, DC today is very good news for the ethanol industry.
While I’m on the topic of ethanol I wanted to point you to the upcoming Biofuels Workshop & Trade Show – East Region that’s being organized by the folks at BBI International. They are really into this ethanol conference thing with the recent Fuel Ethanol Workshop in Kansas City and one coming up in China later this year!
I picked up a card about ethanol-jobs.com at the recent Fuel Ethanol Workshop and have been meaning to post a notice about it. It’s a very nicely done website by the folks at BBI International that is exactly what it says it is – an online ethanol industry job bank for both those looking for a job or to hire someone. It’s very easy to use and I like the simple, clean design.
Breakfast this morning in Columbia, MO was at the MFA Oil headquarters. The Columbia Chamber of Commerce has a Food For Thought Breakfast Series that features interesting topics and speakers. Today it was Michelle Kautz, National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition and Jon Kleiboeker, Missouri Soybean Association speaking about renewable fuels, ethanol and biodiesel.
The 25×25 Ag Energy Work Group held a press conference today with former CIA director James Woolsey. It was a discussion on the idea that reducing our dependence on foreign oil is an issue of national security. Here’s what their news release said:
It looks like Corn Cob Bob has his enemies. Namely big oil companies. He’s such a friendly guy too. How could you not love him?
Lest you think the 2005 Fuel Ethanol Workshop & Expo is mostly Expo, think again. They don’t always make for pretty pictures but there was a whole lot of educating going on.
It’s not unusual to see big iron at a farm show but the 2005 Fuel Ethanol Workshop & Expo had exhibits by a lot of engineering, accouting and consulting firms. That’s why you bring in the big rig if you’ve got it!
This is becoming a standard feature of trade shows everywhere. I like the idea of having an internet “cafe” in the trade show so people have to go there for their free periodic email check. Each time I walked by the internet cafe the work stations were filled and even had people waiting. The 2005 Fuel Ethanol Workshop & Expo set up a very nice one.
