A new article on eMarketer.com talks about the growth in advertising in podcasts. They’re looking at the whole issue from a mass consumer standpoint and make it very clear that this is a niche audience channel. What I’d like to see is research on those of us who are specifically using it as a niche vs. mass audience channel. For …
FarmerFeeds For Farm Podcasts
My friend Dwayne Leslie, from north of the border just announced a new website that you should visit. It’s Farmer Feeds. I was one of the people he had look at this when it was in beta and I like what I see here of the finished product. FarmerFeeds.Com has been launched as the first website designed to help the …
Agriblogging and Farm Podcasting
Those are two of my favorite terms and what’s becoming the largest part of our business. If you’re a regular AgWired reader or subscriber then you know I’ve been cross posting onto multiple blogs over the last 9 days. They include two websites which offer a good example of how you can use this platform as a unique, effective and …
Truffle On The ZimmCast
In this week’s ZimmCast I have a conversation with Aaron Gilbertie, Truffle Media Networks. We talk about our new agreement to work together offering new media services to the agribusiness community. I’m excited about the future of online communications and the folks at Truffle share the feeling. Together we can offer more current channels of communication with our established news …
ZimmComm and Truffle Joining Forces
The news is out that the agricultural marketing community has a growing new media resource. ZimmComm is joining forces with Truffle Media Networks to offer our combined resources in helping you utilize new channels of communication. We’re maintaining our separate companies and this isn’t a partnership. “Joining forces” is the best way to describe it. I just like to think …
40 iPods in 40 Hours
The most interesting direct mail piece I’ve received for the upcoming Cattle Industry Convention Trade Show comes from Elanco Animal Health. It’s 40 iPods in 40 Hours. You have to go to their booth to register for one of 40 iPod Nanos they’ll be giving away from their booth (#761). You’ve got to love a company that’s so committed to …
Poultry Expo Podcasting
I haven’t seen any of the regulars that you normally see at a farm show, especially one of this size. However the new media reporters are on hand. Besides myself there’s Ned Arthur, Truffle Media Networks, who’s here doing work for not only his PoultryCast but other “animal casts” as well. Ned is set up in the Elanco Animal health …
Farm Podcasting in the United Kingdom Pharo Style
I’m just jet lagging a little bit this morning and I think you can probably hear it in my voice on this week’s ZimmCast. Bouncing back and forth across the big pond does have a cost. In this week’s program I’ve got an interview with Adrian Bell, Pharo, a full service agency in the United Kingdom with a focus on agribusiness. Adrian was a panelist at the IFAJ professional improvement seminar that took place in Berlin, Germany this past week. I think Adrian brought a very interesting perspective to the discussion as it relates to journalists working with public relations people.
iPhone Now Available
Don’t think I didn’t hear the announcement today of the iPhone. MacWorld Expo is going on and Steve Jobs made the announcement. If you think this is just a neat looking new cell phone then think again. It’s a widescreen iPod, phone and internet communications device. It’s almost enough to make me want to switch from Sprint to Cingular since …
iPods and iTunes Mushrooming
Since I just helped an agricultural media company create a podcast and I’m in a podcasting mood I thought you might find this of interest. Keep in mind that all the people referred to are using an online environment that includes the biggest podcast directory. Is your company represented there? When I see numbers like these I do have to laugh about this public comment about podcasts and iPods that a farm broadcaster made recently, “It takes too much energy and management for busy people over a long term.” Yeah? Well tell that to all the new iPod owners!
