  • Amanda Johnson of Nebraska is the grand prize winner of the National Corn Growers Association’s 2022 Fields-of-Corn photo contest. The photo – “All the Fall Colors” – was submitted under the Scenery and Landscapes category.
  • AMEXMA, the guild of agricultural journalists and communicators in Mexico, is hosting a 4-day press tour of farms and agri-food facilities in the Jalisco region from February 24-27, 2023.
  • The International Federation of Agricultural Journalism (IFAJ) and Alltech have opened nominations for the 2023 IFAJ/Alltech Young Leaders program. The deadline to apply is February 13, 2023.
  • Farmers across the country are getting excited for the 2023 Commodity Classic, which has just announced registration is up 28% over last year’s event in New Orleans. The 2023 Commodity Classic will be held March 9-11 in Orlando. Attendees can register for all three days of the event; single-day passes are also available.
  • The American Agri-Women (AAW) Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2023 Daughters of American Agriculture Scholarships. The deadline is March 1. Late applications will not be considered.
  • Individuals across the country can make a difference in the lives of the more than 850,000 FFA members this month by participating in Give FFA Day during National FFA Week.
  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) reminds our nation’s farmers and ranchers that the deadline to respond to the 2022 Census of Agriculture is Feb. 6. Producers can respond online at agcounts.usda.gov or by mail.
