When I saw the WILL Radio booth their banner caught my eye since it says, “Podcasts and Radio on Demand.”
I know you can’t see it here in this picture but you can find their podcasts on their website.

One of the coolest things we’ve done here at the 2006 Citrus Expo is introduce the first Florida farm podcast. I mentioned previously that Southeast AgNet was going to get started in the podcast realm and that happened today with the introduction of a series of interviews that are available through the Citrus Expo Podcast.
This happy looking group is the staff of Southeast AgNet, the company putting on Citrus Expo for the first time this year. It’s not the first time the Expo has been held but it’s the first time this company has managed it. It came along with their purchase of Citrus Industry Magazine. Pictured are: (l to r) Robin Loftin, Lee McCoy, Betty Sanders, Gary Cooper, Katherine Bush, Randall Weiseman, Carole McKenzie. Not pictured but here also are Sherry Fisher and Ernie Neff.
Isn’t this a hard working crew? I’m in Ft. Myers now for the 2006 Citrus Expo and we’re set up in the Lee Civic Center. It’s set up day for exhibitors, including Southeast AgNet, owner and manager of the Expo.
There’s a new kid on the air in Indiana. No. Wait. He’s not new. He’s old. Or rather, he’s been on the air in Indiana for a long time. You know what I’m saying? He’s Gary Truitt and he’s announcing Hoosier Ag Today.
Another week and another road trip. This time I’ll be heading out to the Citrus Expo in Ft. Myers, FL. The theme is “Citrus Production in Transitional Times.”
Another farm broadcaster joins the ranks of agribloggers. He’s Peter Shinn, Brownfield’s Wait AgriBusiness Network and he’s back from a stint with the Iowa Air National Guard.
I was going to add this picture of Dave Russell to the post I did on him going to work for Brownfield but, well, time slipped by and just in case you aren’t searching the archives and watching your feeds closely . . .
Here’s Dave Russell and here’s the story.
The Brownfield folks have added to their team. It seems to just keep growing. They’ve hired Dave Russell. There’s a well-known name in the farm broadcasting ranks. Dave began at WRFD in Columbus, Ohio, before moving on to WOWO in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and then the Indiana voice for Tribune Radio Networks. That’s where he was working back when I introduced the Brownfield Network into Indiana. Lately Dave has been serving as Agricultural Liaison for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
Moving up to gold sponsorship this year at the Agricultural Media Summit is BASF. Gold means sponsoring a lot of things. I interviewed BASF Communications Manager, Joy Watson, to learn what they’re doing and why.
