I guess it’s just a beef kind of day here on AgWired. I did have a little drive to Indianapolis thrown into the mix. I’ll be here for meetings tomorrow morning before returning home. Hence the light posting. I did get an announcement from the Cattlemen’s Beef Board about the Beefmobiles gearing up to hit the road again. These folks travel like an agriblogger and they’re invited to write to me on their travels. I’ll post them here.
Alane Blogs Chamberlain
As you may know we built a blog for the Missouri Beef Industry Council. I am happy to see the staff starting to use it to write about the activities they’re involved in. Like today when Alane Lidolph did a post about Chef Richard Chamberlain’s visit to St. Louis. And right before here Dawn Thurnau did a post about a Cook’s Chili Challenge they helped sponsor in Columbia, MO. Good stuff!
Hall of Fame Food
Hall of fame food is what I like. I made a nice roast beef in the oven last night in fact. It looks like the Beef Checkoff is getting some recognition for all the work it does in reaching out to the restaurant industry.
Beef Board Appointments
I love getting these announcements on a Friday afternoon (not).
Quality Time With CAB
I so love to blur the lines. Here’s a story from Certified Angus Beef that’s targeted to farm broadcasters. It comes as a story that’s written in 2 versions (30 sec and 60 sec) and a soundbite. Now that’s cool and I’ve helped Steve Suther and company get started “doing it themselves.”
New MBIC Chairman
Andrew McCrea is the new Chairman of the Missouri Beef Industry Council. This will be his 6th and last year on the board too. He’s a cattleman from northwest Missouri and an award winning farm broadcaster to boot.
I think the MBIC has some great new leadership.
MBIC Board Is Meeting
Today I’m attending the board meeting of the Missouri Beef Industry Council. We’re meeting in Kansas City. Pictured here on the left is outgoing MBIC Chairman, David Dick who’s making a point to new Executive Director, John Kleiboeker.
Beef Blog Training
Say hello to John Kleiboeker and Ada Gallup from the Missouri Beef Industry Council. They just completed a blogging lesson in John’s office in Columbia.
Meet Ambassador Matt
There’s a new Beef Ambassador in town. He’s Mathew Peebles of Silver Springs, FL. Mathew won the title of 2007 National Beef Ambassador at the annual competition, held Oct. 5-7 in Minneapolis, MN.
CAB President Will Retire
I didn’t know Jim Riemann but I certainly have liked his product. Here’s to hoping that we can always find a good CAB steak.
