Mid MO Ag Leaders
For almost 2 years we’ve been coordinating (with a little help from our friends) the Mid Missouri Agricultural Leaders Luncheon. Yesterday was our next to last one before someone new takes over. Wayne Yokley, Chairman of the Missouri State Fair, Youth In Agriculture Foundation, was our speaker.
The Elegant Pork
I am seriously amazed that I’ve been blogging on this business for more than a year now. I get reminders, like when I go to save an image and see last year’s in the folder. Like this story. And now we have a new winner this year:
Show Us Your Tunis
A red headed blogger has to post a story about red headed sheep. In this case it’s Tunis Sheep. The “show us” headline is because:
Protect That IP Today
Every day has to be some sort of “day” anymore. Today it’s World Intellectual Property Day according to the World Intellectual Property Organization. Here’s what their Director General, Kamil Idris, says, “World Intellectual Property Day is an opportunity to encourage people to think about the role played by intellectual property in everyday life, and about its importance in stimulating and safeguarding innovation and creativity.” They’ve even got a 30 sec video clip you can watch here (WMV file).
Blogging & Podcasting Workshop For NCGA
In just a few short minutes I’ll be conducting a blogging and podcasting workshop for the National Corn Growers Association, National & State Staff Meeting in St. Louis. They don’t even know I’m here yet.
IALF Golf Classic & Reunion
The rain we’ve been needing here in central Missouri is happening finally. I mention it since this is a golf story and it would have been too wet this morning to do that. I’m sure the weather will be fine for the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation golf tournament though. It’s June 26th at the Elk’s Golf Course in Pontiac.
New China Director For Cotton Council
Cotton Council International has a new Director for China and Hong Kong. What is a sinologist?
International Ag Journalists Get “Earful” From IL Corn Grower
Last night Illinois farmer, banker, ethanol plant CEO and RFA board member Ray Defenbaugh was one of several people who spoke to a group of visiting agricultural journalists during a media reception sponsored by the US Grains Council and Illinois Corn Growers here at the BIO 2006 conference.
Interview With IL Corn
Agriculture is certainly playing a significant role here at BIO 2006 this year. You can even find a farm broadcaster hard at work like Tricia Braid Terry, WMBD, seen here interviewing Illinois Corn Growers Association board member and farmer, Art Bunting (center).
