Cracker Cow Drive
This could be a dusty event and knowing Florida cowboys I’ll bet they find a way to slake their thirst. The Florida Agricultural Museum will present the “Great Florida Cattle Drive of Ought 6” December 5-9, 2006. Country People Have an Organization
An association for people who live in the country? It seems like we have a lot of those but maybe not one like this. It’ll be interesting to see how this turns out. The announcement says there will be an annual convention and trade show too. Hmmm . . . Member registration is $49.

There is a new slate of officers for the American Phytopathological Society. They took over their terms at the end of July.

I’ve never been to a Farm Aid concert but not for lack of wanting to hear the music. They’ve announced who’s going to be playing on September 30 at Tweeter Center at the Waterfront, Camden, NJ.

This is “A conference and trade show featuring the latest information on the National Animal Identification System, state projects and other identification and information systems technology.”
St. Louis Ag Club Turns 25
The St. Louis Agribusiness Club is celebrating 25 years and to help them do it, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Johanns will be on hand. The first fall meeting of the organization will be held on Friday, September 15. Here’s more details:

Iowa Corn Fueled IRL Race
The Iowa Corn Growers will be the title sponsor for the Iowa Corn Indy 250 next year at the new Iowa Speedway in Newton. Iowa Corn, Iowa Speedway, and the Indy Racing League made the announcement yesterday at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines.
