Roy Rogers Daughter Interview

Chuck Zimmerman

Cheryl Rogers-BarnettWhen I visited the Country Music Hall of Fame yesterday I just happened to walk by a book signing by Cheryl Rogers-Barnett, the oldest daughter of Roy Rogers. You can find out all about her on her website.

Cheryl has written a book titled, “Cowboy Princess” which is her perspective of growing up in the Rogers family. I waited until the signing was over and we did a short interview which I think you’ll enjoy.

Cheryl said that she didn’t “have the talent” to be a star like her parents but I’d say she has lots of talent after talking with her. After listening to her I think you’ll agree. You can find her books at book stores or just visit her website.

XM Satellite Radio Booth

Chuck Zimmerman

XM Satellite Radio BoothI told you I would stop in at the XM Satellite Radio studio.

It’s in the gift shop of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. You’ll hear why that’s a good spot in the interview I did with production director, Ben Krech (center) and chiming in was senior production director for country music, Ray Knight (right).

Ben thinks satellite radio only makes sense for people who have to drive a truck or a tractor long distance or for long hours. He says that agribusinesses have marketing opportunities with satellite radio if they want to pursue them.

Lauren Helping Dad

Chuck Zimmerman

Lauren PetersonMichael Peterson brought family help to his booth today.

Here’s his daughter, Lauren. She’s 14 and thinking about singing. Imagine that.

I got her to take a break from selling Dad’s CD’s and asked her a few questions. I think Michael should be proud of this young lady!

Chuck Zimmerman

Stage BandI did not get the name of this band so please post if you know it.

There are stages everwhere here with bands playing. This one is in the Sports Zone area and is where Michael Peterson will play after the tractor race on Sunday. This band sounded great so I shot a short video clip.

Cattleman And Country Star

Chuck Zimmerman

Todd FritschMeet Todd Fritsch. I sat down and interviewed him this morning and I’m glad I did.

Here’s an outspoken advocate for agriculture and an up and coming country music star. Todd’s family is involved in cattle in Texas. He is very active being the “little brother” who gets assigned the chores no one else wants. But he’s not complaining.

I think you’ll enjoy hearing about his farming roots and how intends to maintain them regardless of where his music career takes him. You can listen to our interview here: Listen To MP3 Todd Fritsch Interview (5 min MP3)
