Farm blogging is growing folks. In fact, I think I know of more farmers blogging than the companies that are trying to sell them products and services! Let’s take Greg Knott for example. He’s one of several farmers who have written to me lately after finding AgWired.
White Backyard Bambi
My backyard bambi last week prompted one AgWired reader to send in her own. This is a picture from Columbia, MO of what’s probably an albino deer. This one’s living behind Marylin Cummins house.
How ‘Bout Them Gators?
With travel and meetings in St. Louis today I haven’t had time to celebrate a Gator victory last night in the BCS Championship game. How sweet is it to be a graduate of the only school to ever have both the basketball and football national championships at the same time? I promise not to bring this up again (soon).
We Are The Champions
How ’bout them Gators?
I just had to say that. They are the champions after last night’s BCS Championship whomping of Ohio State. They also have an excellent ag school in case you didn’t know that. I graduated from the College of Journalism.
This is a celebration day for those of us in the Gator Nation, which is their online social networking site.
Looking Into Poultry & Feed
The winter travel schedule is about to heat up starting this week with a Gateway NAMA meeting in St. Louis. I’ve added an even to the schedule too. It’s the International Poultry Expo and International Feed Expo. They’ll be taking place together in Atlanta on the 24th through the 26th. This looks like a huge show and will be a first time for me.
Backyard Bambi
The phone is ringing off the hook here at ZimmComm New Media headquarters. While I’ve been talking to people around the agribusiness world this was the view out my office window just a few minutes ago.
There’s actually 4 of them wandering around in the trees behind the home office. They didn’t seem to mind my taking their picture either. They just wandered off a few feet and kept on nibbling.
Happy New Year
I’d like to welcome you all to a brand new media year. I can’t wait to see what new techniques and technologies will pop up in the agricultural communications business. ZimmComm New Media is planning on continuing to develop various forms of social communications platforms like blogging and podcasting and we’ve got some exciting announcements coming up in the next week or so.
It’s hard to believe we’re nearing our 3rd year anniversary and it is only possible because of all the wonderful people we work with. We hope you have a fantastic 2007.
What’s Been Up
This past week Cindy and I went on a family trip that was pretty much an all day, every day adventure. It made keeping up with email and posting a challenge. Many of you have noticed that AgWired had a news feed problem and internal link problem. Well, that’s been fixed now. Thanks to all of you who brought it to my attention.
Family Time For ZimmComm
Since this week is such a slow week as far as most business is concerned, ZimmComm is taking it easy too. Cindy and I decided on a trip to see family in multiple states so posting will continue to be light until we get back. It’s interesting to see who’s still working and who’s not based on emails. One thing is for sure, the email spammers are not taking the week off. I’m still getting my full daily amount of spam. In fact, over last weekend it was all spam.
January is going to be a very busy month as most of you know. Road tripping will pick up very shortly after the new year gets started and I think I’ll have some great stuff to bring to your blog and feed reading attention. I’ll still be looking for posting ideas until next week though. Don’t be shy. Send me your thoughts and ideas and I’ll pass them along.
Camp David Lunch on Christmas
I’m not sure how many people really care to know this but the White House Press Office did share the lunch menu at Camp David on Christmas.
Turkey with Giblet Gravy
Cornbread Dressing
Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans
Sweet Potato Casserole
Rolls
Ambrosia
Pumpkin and Pecan Pies
Sounds pretty good to me.
