The overall winner in the Livestock Publications Council, Best of the Bunch photo contest was Kelly Toledo, Trailhead Designs, with this picture – “Running Horses.” I think you’ll be able to find all of the winners on their website soon. This was in the August issue of their “Actiongram.” You’ve got to be a member to get it but I just wanted to share a good photo!
LPC Critique Contest Results Available
If you want to know the results of the Livestock Publications Council critique contest then you can download the results here: LPC Critique Contest Results (pdf file). The awards from the contest were presented at the Ag Media Summit in Milwaukee earlier this month.
Ag Media Summit Photo Album
So if you weren’t able to attend the Agricultural Media Summit you can still get the flavor of it by visiting the articles that I posted this past week. This is one of those opportunities to use an AgWired category archive. In this case you can visit this link – Ag Media Summit Archive – and you’ll pull up all 30+ articles I did from both the Agricultural Relations Council Meeting and the AMS.
LPC Annual Meeting Over
Today is the last day of the Ag Media Summit and both AAEA and LPC hold their annual meetings, followed by a brunch. At the Livestock Publications Council meeting, outgoing president, Joe Roybal, Beef magazine, turned the reigns over to Lori Maude, American Gelbvieh Association. I’ll have an interview for you with Lori within a few days after I get back home and have more time to edit some of the audio I collected here.
LPC & AAEA Boards Meet
Now that the Ag Relations Council meeting is over it’s time for the Ag Media Summit! To get the work underway it was board meeting morning. In this picture it’s the Livestock Publications Council board meeting. They actually started last night and were just finishing up this morning.
Royal Gala Shaping Up For October 21
Although I didn’t make the meeting it looks like the committee got a lot done! The notes are too long for this post so I’ll just use this opportunity to point out that the Royal Gala Fundraiser will be held again this year on October 21 at the American Royal headquarters in Kansas City. The event is to raise funds for the Livestock Publications Heritage Center. Besides great food, beverage and fellowship the notes say that Barry Nelson performed magic. Maybe he will again this year!
