After a week off, the ZimmCast is back. I am glad I got to travel coast to coast as part of a historic interstate convoy but it sure took up way more time each day than I imagined. I got a little behind in some things like posting here on AgWired and getting a new program for you last week.
Local Radio Interview
I’ve been a spokesperson for the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council on this cross country convoy trip this past 2 weeks. Media opportunities have arisen at various stops.
Stopping At Firestone Headquarters
We got in to Akron, OH way too late last night to post anything. We stopped in at Firestone headquarters for dinner though before getting to our hotel. I got a nice interview with Andrew Firestone, great grandson of Harvey.
Playing In The Parking Lot
Hang in there with me AgWired fans. By next week I’ll be back to a more normal posting schedule. This cross country convoy gig is taking up a lot more time each day than I thought. However, the relationships and contacts I’ve been making are fantastic. We are allowed to play sometimes as we trek across the United States on I-80. Here’s Bob Lee (left), founder of Country Coach, Inc. with one of the toys he brought on the trip.
We’re In Illinois Now
Upon arrival in Illinois today we were greeted by a bunch of folks, including Jim Robbins, Illinois Corn Marketing Board.
Ethanol Blend In Nebraska
Our convoy is in Omaha, NE now. We’ve got a morning press conference then a display at the QWest Center. Yesterday we finally found a fuel stop that blended ethanol in its gasoline.
Making Progress In Cheyenne
Blogging time is a challenge on a long road trip and I’m on a LONG road trip. Tomorrow’s going to be a 502 mile segment of this convoy trip from Cheyenne to Omaha with 2 stops on the way.
New Biofuel
Here’s some interesting news from ZimmComm’s latest talking news release project. I’m on the highway as you hopefully know but Cindy’s holding down the office.
Ethanol Promoted By Utah Governor
Ethanol got a huge plug at this morning’s press conference from Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr. Although not a member of the Governor’s Ethanol Coalition he should be. I interviewed the Governor prior to his remarks before he got on his Harley to escort us to the Wyoming line. Here you can see him getting ready to saddle up and lead us out of town.
Satellite Radio On The ZimmCast
This multi-state ZimmCast is about satellite radio with an interview with XM Satellite Radio VP, Roderick McKenzie.
