Once again this year the attendees at the National Agvocacy 2.0 Conference had a presentation from the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance. Jenn Dahm gave us an update on research on consumers and food the organization has conducted. A key takeaway from her presentation is that transparency with consumers is not as difficult as we might think it is and that all segments of agriculture have a great story to tell.
In the survey USFRA conducted they found that the food nutrition label is not the only way consumers get information from food packaging. Other elements like stickers or QR codes are also important ways consumers are getting information.
I also spoke with Lisa Cassady about how USFRA is using this type of information. She says they’ve provided training to over 9,000 farmers about how to tell their story.
