The Livestock Publications Council just held Boot Camp Ver. 1.’05 in Lousville. Two of the attendees were new student members from Michigan State University, Sara Barker and Abby Jones.

There is sure a lot going on in Kansas City in coming weeks. For example, besides the Boots, Barbeque & Business luncheon I just posted, there’s also the Livestock Publications Council, “A Royal Gala Awards Banquet. Make sure your fall plans include the Royal Gala in Kansas City coming up on October 21. This is the continuation of fundraising efforts to create the new Livestock Publications Heritage Center.
Meet The New LPC President
Lori Maude, Gelbvieh World, is the new president of the Livestock Publications Council. I got to interview her at the recent Ag Media Summit. Lori tells us about herself, LPC and what she sees as priorities for the coming year.
Running Horses Best of The Bunch
The overall winner in the Livestock Publications Council, Best of the Bunch photo contest was Kelly Toledo, Trailhead Designs, with this picture – “Running Horses.” I think you’ll be able to find all of the winners on their website soon. This was in the August issue of their “Actiongram.” You’ve got to be a member to get it but I just wanted to share a good photo!

LPC Annual Meeting Over
Today is the last day of the Ag Media Summit and both AAEA and LPC hold their annual meetings, followed by a brunch. At the Livestock Publications Council meeting, outgoing president, Joe Roybal, Beef magazine, turned the reigns over to Lori Maude, American Gelbvieh Association. I’ll have an interview for you with Lori within a few days after I get back home and have more time to edit some of the audio I collected here.
LPC & AAEA Boards Meet
Now that the Ag Relations Council meeting is over it’s time for the Ag Media Summit! To get the work underway it was board meeting morning. In this picture it’s the Livestock Publications Council board meeting. They actually started last night and were just finishing up this morning.
