Manmade Spring Rise On Missouri River Discussed On CornTalk

Chuck Zimmerman

MCGA LogoIt’s time to save the Pallid Sturgeon on the Missouri River. At least that’s what it sounds like a bunch of concerned wildlife people want. This is moving pretty quick. This being an attempt to develop a man-made spring rise on the Missouri River. This could put an additional one to three feet of water on the river which would cause river bottom farm land flooding.

This is also the topic of CornTalk, the weekly program for the Missouri Corn Growers Association. In this week’s program I interview Bob Bacon, with the Coalition To Protect The Missouri River. Bob has serious concerns about how quickly this plan is moving and the impact it will have on Missouri farmers. He’s asking for people to get involved and make their concerns known.
