This had been rumored but we are not into the rumor mill here at AgWired. On Friday it was officially announced that those busy folks at Vance have added to their Food360 Division. What did they add, you ask?
Hoard’s Sponsors Expo Reception
You always have to celebrate the end of the first day at a farm show. World Dairy Expo is no different. The exhibitor reception was sponsored by Hoard’s Dairyman. Isn’t this a great looking group?
Dairy Directory Available
A new 74-page directory of dairies in the Southwest is now available. It’s called the Southwest Plains Dairy Directory, published by Dairy Directory Publishers, which I guess is some kind of collaborative effort of several groups.
Lifestyle Veterinarians
We’re certainly hearing a lot about “lifestyle” farming these days. How about lifestyle veterinarians or is it veterinarians who have a lifestyle? That’s the subject of a relatively new magazine called Vetz. Here’s information on their second issue:
Vance And The Food360 Circle
Here’s something that I haven’t quite fully grasped yet. It’s Vance’s new Food360, which appears to be an effort to bring a lot of different “businesses” into one unit. You can learn more on their website. I’ll warn you about the flash intro though (you can skip it). I appreciate all the effort people go to to create these intros to their website but I just don’t have time for them.
IFAJ With Greg Lamp
This might be my last post before heading to the airport on the way to the IFAJ Congress. To get you in the mood I’ve got my interview in the form of a special ZimmCast with Greg Lamp, editor of Corn & Soybean Digest. Greg will be on the trip and is on the IFAJ executive committee, representing the United States.
New Website Design For AgWeb.com
The folks at Farm Journal Media announced a whole new site design for AgWeb.com this week. I don’t have a “before” shot to compare it to but you can visit and see for yourself. Here’s what they say about why they changed it:
Farm Journal Media Fills News Sales Positions
I keep seeing good news about business magazine revenues. The data now includes an agriculture category. So it’s no surprise to see that Farm Journal Media is adding sales staff on the publications side as well as the electronic side.
Special ZimmCast With Diane Johnson, ED For LPC
I’m here in Milwaukee now. Nice breeze coming in off the lake. Downtown is busy because it’s Germanfest. I thought it was Germanfest here every weekend. Actually I think it is for some people.
Complete ABM Agri Council Study To Be Released At AMS
This is going to be my last post until I’m in Milwaukee. That’s because I’m driving and will be most of tomorrow. So I thought I’d get in one last post about the Ag Media Summit. One of the 3 main organizing groups, the American Business Media Agri Council, will be presenting the complete results of their media usage study next Tuesday. We pointed you to it recently and the webcast just touched on the highlights. I’ll try to get more details to provide you next week.
