The issue of rural internet access is a very important one in agricultural marketing and communications today. Last week I posted the full presentation made by Tim Ganschow, Agristar Global Networks, at the Gateway NAMA meeting. I’ve selected a couple of segments from Tim’s talk for you in this week’s ZimmCast. I hope you enjoy it.
Bringing Internet Access To Rural America
I’m back. It’s been a long day of blogging, teaching blogging and demonstrating AgNewsWire. I promised to post some audio though and here it is. I decided to post Tim Ganschow’s (Agristar Global Networks) complet presentation today on “Bringing Internet Access To Rural America.” You sure can’t find a subject more near and dear to my heart.
Rural Broadband Discussion
The presentation here at the NAMA/Ag Club meeting is now underway.

Here we are just prior to the NAMA Gateway/St. Louis Ag Club meeting at the Westport Sheraton. The St. Louis Ag Club is currently holding their board meeting. They were kind enough to pause for the photo op.

Are You Customer Focused? – The Truth Revealed
In case you didn’t make it to the National Agri-Marketing Association’s Agribusiness Forum, you can still participate in an online version of one of the sessions: “Are You Customer Focused? – The Truth Revealed!” The session will be done as a webinar.
National Agriculture Day 2006
It’s not too soon to think about celebrating National Agriculture Day which will be held on March 20, 2006. To show your support you can order Ag Day Lapel Pins. There’s a lot of other materials available too like the Ag Day Planning Guide on the same order form.
Dinging Your Way To Your Customers
At the NAMA Agribusiness Forum it was interesting to see a presentation on customer focused marketing from a very non-ag company. Southwest Airlines started Ding earlier this year as a way to interact very closely with their customers. Jill Howard-Allen had quite a few questions after her presentation. I think that people found her presentation to be very different than what they expected.
AgWired Sponsoring NAMA Blog
You can see a lot more of what was happening today on the NAMA Agribusiness Forum blog at www.namaconnect.org. AgWired is sponsoring and posting.
