I’ll be heading east tomorrow to Indianapolis with one stop on the way. Just to keep you interested in the greatest spectacle in auto racing I’ve got an interview for you to listen to with ICM CEO, Dave Vander Griend. Dave is a founder of the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council. His company is a design/engineering firm for ethanol plants.
Ethanol Plant Builder
It’s the final week before the Indianapolis 500. Time to get revved up. I’ll be heading on over later this week. On Thursday the IRL is having an Ethanol Forum which will feature speakers like IRL founder Tony George and USDA Under Secretary for Rural Development, Tom Dorr. I’ll report on it for you right here.
Get Revved Up For Indy
After a week off, the ZimmCast is back just in time to Rev You Up For Indy. Yes, it’s the final week leading up to the Indianapolis 500. To get you revved up this week’s program is all about ethanol and the IRL, powered by EPIC.
Can You Say Ethanol Champion?
Being a farmer today has its challenges. Being a farmer and a funny car driver simply magnifies those challenges. Mark Thomas is up to the challenge though. He is also one of the biggest proponents of ethanol you’re going to find anywhere.
Ethanol Gets Energized
Well I’m here at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on “Ethanol Day.” Amazingly the rain cleared up before the Secretary of Energy, Samuel Bodman arrived. It started to rain again after he left. He even took a couple laps in a 2-seater car with driver Davey Hamilton. As you can see the Sec. looks relaxed. This was before they did their laps.
Indy 500 Wrapup
The media event that the Ethanol Promotion & Information Council coordinated last Friday was truly an awesome piece of public relations! It sure doesn’t hurt to be tied into the greatest spectacle in racing. Way to go Tom Slunecka and the folks from the Integer Group, led by Joanna Schroeder.
EPIC Interview Is This Week’s ZimmCast
Last Friday agriculture received a great amount of publicity through the media event coordinated by the Ethanol Promotion & Information Council (EPIC). It was easy to see that they generated stories because there were many reporters already covering the pending Indy 500 race. They were eager to interview all the media contacts for the event.
Ethanol Car Out Early
Well, Jimmy got 47 laps in but he’s done. I don’t have any information on why but he’s out. That’s tough but it gives me a good excuse to pack up and leave early and beat the crowd out. At least while the car was running it looked good!
Start Your Engines
It is one of the most famous sayings in sports, “Gentlemen, (and ladies now), start your engines.”
Ethanol Car Control Center
I know there’s no way I could fit inside this thing. This is what Jimmy Kite will be holding onto for dear life at 220 or more mph in just a few minutes from now!
