The biggest press conference of the day is taking place right now in the ICC center next to the press rooms. Just finishing up is Germany’s Federal Minister of Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture, Horst Seehofer. He’s seated second from the left.
IFAJ Really Is International
I know you’ve heard me say before how beneficial involvement is in IFAJ. Getting outside our little comfort zones when you’re reporting on a global industry is something that all agricultural journalists should take time to do.
IFAJ Leaders Ready To Meet
International Green Week makes a very convenient spot for the IFAJ to hold its annual board meeting. Seen here are IFAJ President David Markey (l) and Senior Vice President Mike Wilson (r).
Messe Berlin Opening Reception
Welcoming agricultural journalists to Berlin this evening was the CEO of Messe Berlin, the company that organizes International Green Week. He’s Raimund Hosch and I interviewed him after the presentation.
World Ag Expo is 40
In case you didn’t know it, the World Ag Expo is turning 40. That’s not old though, I’m here to tell you.
Going to Blog Green Week
It’s been a very nice Thanksgiving weekend so far. I’ve been playing catch up on a lot of things that were on hold with all the travel of the past several weeks.
Looking ahead we’re getting near farm convention time. A lot of state organizations are holding their annual meetings in December. I’m hoping you’ll let me know about them and how they’re promoting them so I can pass it along.
Think Small
Next year’s NAMA Conference theme may be “Think Big” but starting tomorrow you can think “small” as in the 14th National Small Farm Trade Show & Conference.
It’s going to be held at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Columbia, MO. They have heated buildings in case you’re worried about that.
Milking For Votes
Speaking of Sunbelt Ag Expo. What do you do when you’re running for re-election as Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture? You throw a cow milking contest.
Internet Cloud Over Sunbelt Ag Expo
I’ve been to many Sunbelt Ag Expos but not this year. It’s going on right now in Moultrie, GA. Thanks to Camvera Networks you can surf the web wirelessly anywhere on the site. This would sure come in handy at a lot of ag events around the country. Sounds like a business model to me.
Farm Aid New Media Show Day
It’s Farm Aid show day and you can catch it via webcast. Here’s the board of Farm Aid. From the left there’s John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews and Neil Young.
