- Abengoa Bioenergy is building an ethanol plant on a 79-acre site in the Tri-City Regional Port District in Madison, Ill. Construction is under way, and the plant is expected to be in operation by late 2009. It will produce an estimated 88 million gallons of ethanol a year from corn and other cereal grains.
