Posting has been a little light this week but I will have a lot coming out over the next couple days. ZimmComm has been a little busy evolving ever further into the new media world. For that reason we’re changing our name to ZimmComm New Media, LLC. We’re pretty much all about new media now, even though a lot of what we do still involved marketing and communications. As a former colleague used to say about his organization, “We’re a constantly evolving strategy.”
If you’re going to switch teams, pick a good one. That’s what Team Ethanol driver Paul Dana did. The rumor was floating around until confirmation came today at an Indy Racing League press conference. Paul Dana will now be driving for Rahal Letterman Racing, which makes him a teammate to Danica Patrick.
The Ethanol Promotion and Information Council has some promotion results to be proud of.
CornTalk is the week’y interview program of the Missouri Corn Growers Association. This week MCGA President, Terry Hilgedick, talks about how the ethanol industry has already surpassed next year’s Renewable Fuels Standard production quota. He describes how grower-owned ethanol plant production is increasing in Missouri and looks forward to next spring’s legislative session and Missouri Governor Matt Blunt’s pledge to support a statewide 10% ethanol/gas blend requirement.
In just a few short months the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC) has really put together some fantastic projects to promote ethanol as an excellent renewable energy fuel source. The organization has grown in membership and boasts significant backing for its future. Plans are being made now for 2006 and we look forward to what they have in mind. To find out more I interviewed EPIC Executive Director, Tom Slunecka for this week’s ZimmCast. Tom talks about the organization, some of their research and ways they are continuing to promote ethanol to the public.
We’ve had this week’s CornTalk from the Missouri Corn Growers Association available to you podcast subscribers all week. I’m just now getting it posted though so pardon the delay.
In this week’s CornTalk, National Corn Growers Association CEO Rick Tolman discusses last week’s Ethanol Energy Balance forum at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The forum was organized to settle the debate over the net energy balance provided by ethanol. Much of that debate was created by a recent re-release of a questionable research study that suggests that that support for this form of energy is not worth it.
With all the different “facts” floating around in the media this last week or so the folks at the National Corn Growers Association decided to do something about it. They created a new website called Ethanolfacts.com. It’s just what it says it is, a clean easy-to-navigate site with facts in terms consumers can understand. We’ll see if consumers can find it now!
The big news out of Washington, DC today is very good news for the ethanol industry.
While I’m on the topic of ethanol I wanted to point you to the upcoming Biofuels Workshop & Trade Show – East Region that’s being organized by the folks at BBI International. They are really into this ethanol conference thing with the recent Fuel Ethanol Workshop in Kansas City and one coming up in China later this year!
