Bowled Over By BIO

Chuck Zimmerman

BIO 2006I was pretty psyched up to attend BIO 2006 but it’s not looking good. I need a sponsor and none has been forthcoming. This would be one awesome event to blog. I proposed it to BIO but never even received an acknowledgement of my emailed proposal. However, I am credentialed. It’s not too late if anyone would like to have this huge event properly blogged.

Auburn Student Blogger Critiques Us

Chuck Zimmerman

Lara's BlogI know that Auburn University has people who get new media. A trackback to a post on AgNewsWire.AgWired.com.com alerted me to an example of it. It led me to Auburn public relations student, Lara’s Blog. Lara had to critique an audio news release (what we call a Talking News Release) and she found one we produced and distributed for the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council.

Keep Your iPressroom Updated

Chuck Zimmerman

iPressroomI have never used iPressroom but their news release just came in and prompted me to write about a frustration I’m having today. In their release they say “. . . reports a sharp rise in the number of inquiries for “Internet Pressroom Solutions” over the last three months, outpacing the number of incoming requests for “News Wire Distribution” for the first time in the company’s history.”

PR Newswire Now Podcasting Audio Releases

Chuck Zimmerman

MultiVuI’ve been meaning to tell you about this but that trip to Switzerland kind of got in the way. If you’re involved in any type of public relations efforts then you probably know about PR Newswire. They’ve started doing something very logical and something we’ve been preaching for the last year and a half. They’re pushing the creation and distribution of audio (and video) news releases!! We call them Talking News Releases and we directly email them to reporters. PR Newswire is producing them as fully voiced news “stories” that may include company representative sound bites. We do that when appropriate too.
