This morning I streamed the audio from our press conferences that included this one with New Holland. I recorded it and will be posting that audio soon. I hope you enjoyed them.
I’ve been live streaming the audio from this evening’s forum and press conference on the proposed GIPSA rule. I’ll be posting selected audio and interviews at some later time since I have another forum to try to attend this evening and then an all day workshop tomorrow. I hope all you who listened got something out of it. It’s always best to hear it “live!”
We are going to try and bring you live audio of President Obama’s speech at the POET ethanol plant in Macon, Missouri via cell phone and Ustream since there is no good internet access at the site and aircards don’t work well for live broadcasts. Speech is scheduled to begin at 12:55 central time.
Post update: Way better audio available now for download in player below.
Good morning from ZimmComm World Headquarters. I was streaming live from my iPhone at my desk for a while this morning. I might do that more often. I heard from folks like Gardner Hatch at Gibbs & Soell, Ron Hayes from RON in Oklahoma and Allie Hembree at Alltech.
It’s a beautiful day in the midwest again and I’m betting the fields are seeing some good action before the Easter weekend. I just finished an interview with Mike Leetch, Syngenta, for a new ZimmCast on advice for growers as they get out in their mostly cool wet fields. That will be posting soon.
We’re going to be broadcasting the final general session from the U.S. Grains Council Marketing Conference.
Post Update We were live. Now we’re recorded.
The Chairman for the U.S. Grains Council is Rick Fruth. Rich took the stage today to speak to attendees of the International Marketing Conference and Membership Meeting. I have recorded his comments for you in video and audio. I also spoke with him during a break to see what he considers the challenges and opportunities for the U.S. Grains Council.
You can watch or listen to Rick’s comments here:
You can also download (mp3) and listen to Ricks’s remarks here:
You can also download (mp3) and listen to an interview I conducted with Rick here:
This morning we streamed the opening general session of the U.S. Grains Council International Marketing Conference and Membership Meeting. I did it in two parts. In this first one you can listen to USGC Chairman Rick Fruth welcome attendees and introduce President/CEO Tom Dorr. Tom proceeded to make remarks about the purpose of the conference and posed questions the group will need to answer over the next several days.
Several thousand people convened in Orlando, Florida this week for the inaugural AG CONNECT Expo. The show kicked off for the general public this morning and so far attendees and exhibitors alike have been impressed.
The AG CONNECT Expo is unique compared to other ag shows in the states in that it is one of the first attempts to bring the global agriculture industry together to discuss the future including challenges, opportunities, new technologies and research and also address how countries and companies can work together to aid developing countries with their agriculture programs and initiatives.
The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is hosting the conference and Charlie O’Brien, AEM’s VP of Agricultural Services spent some time with Mike Adams, host of AgriTalk. AgriTalk broadcasted its entire show live this morning from the CASE IH booth.
O’Brien discussed the show in length and gave AgriTalk’s listeners a few points of interest. More than 40 countries are represented here and 20 percent of the total attendees are from outside of the United States. There are delegates from 20 countries here, with 16 organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce. There are more than 40 supporting organizations taking part in the Expo from more than a dozen countries including China, Russia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, UK, India, and Argentina. And before the week is over, more than 30 education seminars will have been given with 60 percent of the attendees participating.
Thank you to everyone who watched the live stream of the opening ceremonies from the first ever AG CONNECT Expo. My iPhone streamed live for about an hour and a half. Feel free to post any comments/feedback if you watched.
I had to use the convention center wireless and let’s just say it was not fast. That’s a key to a good live stream.
Photos have been updated from the opening ceremonies.
We had a very enjoyable day two morning out here at the Farm Progress Show. AgWired Live TV ran for hours and we had lots of viewers coming and going! I’m taking a break and going back to the hotel shortly to work on some of the photos, video and audio interviews that we’ve conducted. Let’s just say it’s been very busy around the media tent and working with our sponsors.
So enjoy the photos. We’ve got lots more being added. Like this one from midday yesterday in the media tent. Now that’s a lot of ag journalists crowded around the tables!
ZimmComm New Media is live and on location at the Farm Progress Show. We’ll have a live feed up a lot of the time. We’re mainly focusing on the press conferences when we can.
Right now we’re apparently overloading the internet access system here so I’ve shut down our live feed at least for a while. In the meantime enjoy our photos. We have a Farm Progress Show Photo Album started and will be adding to it periodically during the show.

We were broadcasting live earlier this evening from the Ft. Worth Stock Show & Rodeo in Watt Arena. Here’s the setup. I really didn’t know we’d have fairly good internet access but thought I’d give it a try.
So, while my Mac was broadcasting live, I was recording the show with a video camera and also an audio recorder. I also shot about 150 still photos too. I guess I should count the 7 interviews I did, mostly after the show.
I’m just finishing uploading photos to the show photo album and then it’s time to call it a night before traveling back to ZimmComm World Headquarters early in the morning.
Hello live from Day 2 of the Farm Progress Show in Boone, IA.
Well, we were going to broadcast the Tom Dorr press conference at 2pm but thanks to the worst internet access we’ve ever had at a Farm Progress Show (that I can remember anyway) access for AgWired Live TV died a little before the press conference. I taped it though and will post it as soon as I can get it edited.
BTW. The internet access here is being handled by a company called VenuWorks. I would definitely not recommend them. We’ve been having lots of problems since the show started with our access. One of our farm broadcasters just left to go back to her hotel because she can’t even upload audio files. The company hasn’t been very responsive. I’ve called 2x (trying to get some guy named Andy) in the last couple hours and left messages but am getting no answer. If I was New Holland, I wouldn’t be paying for this service.
Post Update: Andy did call me back. He says that since this is a new site we should understand that there are infrastructure challenges and they hope to learn from this show and make it better next time.
If you missed it then you missed it. AgWired Live TV broadcast today’s Michael Peterson/New Holland Celebrity Tractor Race from the Chevy Zone at the CMA Music Fest.
We had people tuning in and out of the broadcast which stretched over several hours today. I’m in the process of editing some pictures, audio and video to post here this afternoon from the hotel. Tomorrow I’ll be heading back to ZimmComm World Headquarters.
AgWired.com will be bringing you live coverage of the New Holland/Michael Peterson Celebrity Tractor Race. AgWired Live TV will be streaming the race on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Viewers can watch thirty celebrities compete to be the fastest tractor on the lot on a post here or on the AgWired Live TV Web page. Celebrity racers include Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Jimmie Van Zant, Rolling Ston’es Chuck Leavell and National Biodiesel Board CEO Joe Jobe. Of course, Michael Peterson will be hosting the event.
Before I get to BASF innovation I just have to let you know this is post # 5,000 on AgWired. Talk about some new media innovation!
Our first speaker this morning at the BASF Media Summit was Dr. Stefan Marcinowski, BASF Executive Board member. His job was to provide us with an overview of the company and a key word in his presentation was “Innovate.” Keeping with the theme of From Research to Reality, he says that BASF invests significantly in R&D which leads to innovation and that fuels the constant re-invention of the company.
I like his remark that the future is the “time zone where we’ll spend the rest of our lives.”
According to Dr. Marcinowski, BASF is the number one chemical company in the world in sales. He says their income has tripled in the last 10 years.
Apparently we’re going to be moving to different rooms this afternoon so this morning’s episode of AgWired Live TV is over but I have several recorded interviews like the following one with Mike Heinz, BASF President, Crop Protection Division.
Thanks to all of you who watched and made it through our internet access disappearing for a few minutes.
I didn’t know we had internet access here in the BASF Media Summit presentation room so I had to move my set up but we’re live and I’m going to stay live for the rest of the day.
You can see the live stream showing up on my Mac here in the back of the room.
Right now we’re near the end of the first session of speakers.
Somebody just turned the air conditioning on which has been really needed here this morning.
This is going to be a fun day of live web streaming activity. Hopefully I’ll bring you some live interviews during our breaks.
Here’s the schedule for when I intend to be live on AgWired Live TV.
10:15 – 10:30am
12:00 – 12:15
3:00 – 4:00pm, eastern time. Approx. live break times.
Our sessions are across the hall in a different room where I don’t have internet access so I’m going to be be bringing people to the media room for some live interviews. Check us out:
