The first ag group that I know of that started podcasting is the Missour Beef Industry Council. That’s thanks to the now former Executive Director Steve Taylor.
Pork Has Peugh
The National Pork Board has a new president.
Brownfield Open Phones
Brownfield, Ag News and Indiana Pork are teaming up for another teleconference coming up July 26.
Brave Agri-Golfers
I know this is a small picture but that’s so it’s not easy to see how absolutely nasty/sweaty we are after playing 18 holes of golf in 100 degree weather. This was from our goodbye to Steve Taylor golf game at Eagle Knoll yesterday.
American Agri-Women Get Fresh In Florida
Why is it that everything from Florida is “fresh?” I’m from Florida. Does that mean I’m “fresh.” I guess it’s all that beautiful blue sky and sunshine. That’s where the American Agri-Women will be holding their annual convention this year. I wish they’d hire me to blog it for them.
Farm Aid’s Top of the Haystack
The folks at Farm Aid are providing some great content for an agricultural new media workshop. I know I’ll be using them as an example in the one I’ll be conducting at the Ag Media Summit next week.
CCI Celebrates 50 Years
I just love these pictures from the Cotton Council International 50 year reception. They did this in Washington, DC at Union Station. What I like is the little “cotton tree” that frame the speakers like Hunter Moorhead here.
AEM Moves Into New Office Building
A picture can almost be as good as being there. Almost. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) just put the finishing touches on a new office building. They held an open house in June to “not only showcase its new headquarters office to attendees but also educate them – in a fun and informal way – about AEM and the industry segments it serves.”
Learn About Nutrients For Life
The fertilizer folks want the general public to know more about the societal benefits of modern agriculture. One of the ways they say they’re doing that is by creating supplemental educational materials for middle and high school science curriculums. Those materials will be used for the first time this fall.
Board Meeting Last On The Agenda
The last thing to get done here at the Cattle Industry Summer Conference is the board meeting. This is a combined meeting of the Beef Board and NCBA, although the official meetings are held separately.
